Researchers from the University of Hong Kong have developed an artificial intelligence (AI) model that can identify fertile sperm more accurately compared with traditional methods, paving the way for faster and more effective fertility treatments. In an interview with the Post, William Yeung Shu-biu, professor in the Hong Kong University Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, said the technology outperforms traditional manual semen analysis, which involves technicians in laboratories identifying fertile sperm under a microscope.
