Hotel lobby flooded as Super Typhoon Ragasa lashes Hong Kong
Hong Kong Observatory issues No 10 signal as Ragasa wreaks havoc in areas of the city, including a seaside hotel in Aberdeen.
Super Typhoon Ragasa has been lashing Hong Kong with heavy winds and rain on September 24, 2025, causing damage in many areas, including the Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel. Staff at the seaside establishment in Aberdeen escaped serious injury when waves crashed through glass windows and doors and flooded the lobby. Residents have been urged to stay indoors as water levels have risen significantly. The Hong Kong Observatory says Ragasa has brought a significant storm surge to Hong Kong. Sea levels on the eastern coast of the city had generally risen to more than 3 metres above chart datum as of 8am, while the readings in Tai Po Kau exceeded 3.7 metres above chart datum.
