Are Hongkongers ready to share tables with dogs?

Hong Kong is allowing dogs to dine indoors with patrons for the first time since 1994. From July 2026, up to 1,000 restaurants in the city will be licensed to welcome four-legged guests. While the move aims to tap into the city’s massive pet market, strict leash laws and safety rules remain in place.
