Hong Kong anti-extradition bill protesters stage ‘marathon petition’ at G20 nation consulates ahead of Osaka summit

Hundreds of protesters opposed to Hong Kong’s now-suspended extradition bill have vowed to try and gain greater international attention for their cause.

On July 26, 2019, the demonstrators staged rallies and dropped off petitions at diplomatic missions for G20 nations in the city.

Protesters have also raised money to run advertisements in the Financial Times, The New York Times and The Japan Times for three days starting July 27, as a video highlighting their cause appeared online. G20 leaders are set to meet in Osaka, Japan on July 28-29.
