Hong Kong police clear protesters from legislature after invasion
Hong Kong police moved in to clear anti-government protesters who had broken into and vandalised the city’s legislative council building. They fired several rounds of tear gas to disperse the crowd. The protesters had laid siege to the building, breaking barriers, fences and shattering glass doors. The invasion came on the 22nd anniversary of Hong Kong’s handover to China.
