‘It’s very bad’: restaurants face huge losses after Super Typhoon Ragasa strikes Hong Kong

Although not as severe as some previous storms, Super Typhoon Ragasa left a trail of destruction as it skirted Hong Kong on September 24, 2025. One of the worst-hit areas was Tseung Kwan O in the New Territories, where flood barriers in front of three restaurants at a shopping centre were washed into a mountain of debris. The Post talked to the owner of one establishment – Bacaba Restaurant & Bar – as he tried to assess the damage.
