Hong Kong Olympic gold medallist’s coach ‘can’t be more proud of’ fencer Edgar Cheung

Newly crowned Olympic gold medallist Edgar Cheung Ka-long is finally getting the recognition he deserves. The unassuming 24-year-old became a household name overnight after beating the defending Olympic fencing champion, to snatch gold in Tokyo. His coach Greg Koenig says he knew Cheung had what it takes to be an Olympic champion. The Post’s Alkira Reinfrank spoke to Koenig from the Olympic Village.
