Kuo Hsing-chun’s family celebrates after weightlifter wins Taiwan’s first gold at Tokyo Olympics

Weightlifter Kuo Hsing-chun’s family and friends in Taitung, Taiwan, cheered after she won the island’s first gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics on July 27, 2021.

Dubbed the “Goddess of Weightlifting”, Kuo dominated the women’s 59kg category and set three Olympic records en route to topping the podium.
