Yuan Meng is the first panda born in France, where his parents have been on loan from China since 2012 as a part of Beijing’s ‘panda diplomacy’. French first lady Brigitte Macron - the 'godmother’ of the panda cub - officially announced his name as Yuan Meng, which means ‘accomplishment of a dream’.
