New NYPD Chief Rodney Harrison meets with community leaders in Manhattan’s Chinatown

New NYPD chief Rodney Harrison visited Manhattan’s Chinatown on April 2, 2021, as reports of anti-Asian hate incidents surged. His visit came 3 days after he was sworn in on March 30. Meeting with community leaders, Harrison stressed the importance of neighbourhood policing and promised that he would improve the force’s relationship with the community, as well as making sure perpetrators of hate crimes will be held accountable.
