China condemns new US law aimed at boosting domestic semiconductor manufacturing

Chinese state media and trade bodies have joined a chorus of government voices lambasting a new US law aimed at boosting semiconductor manufacturing on American soil. US President Joe Biden signed the bipartisan Chips and Science Act into law on August 9, 2022, to enhance the country’s competitiveness against China. Beijing said the move is part of US efforts to undermine its role in the global supply chain.
