Moscow drag queens defiant as Russia moves to expand anti-gay legislation

Russian lawmakers are expected to pass legislation in November 2022 to effectively ban “LGBTQ propaganda”. An expansion of a 2013 bill designed to shield children, the amended version would pertain to adults as well, and could apply to books, films, social media posts and drag shows. Faced with a risk of suddenly coming outlaws, drag queens in Moscow remained defiant as they took the stage for what could be one of their last legal shows.
