Chinese embassy inaugurated in Honduras, as President Castro set to visit China

China officially inaugurated its first embassy in Honduras on June 5, 2023. The new embassy in the capital Tegucigalpa came as Honduras formally established ties with the world’s second-largest economy, after cutting diplomatic relations with Taiwan. Officials also announced that President Xiomara Castro is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping later in the month during a four-day state visit.
