Wildfires on Hawaii’s Maui island have razed areas including the historic resort town of Lahaina, killing at least 53 people and injuring dozens. Hawaii Governor Josh Green said the death toll was expected to rise “very significantly” as search and rescue work efforts continue. Officials reported that 271 structures were reportedly damaged or destroyed in Lahaina.
