Premature babies evacuated from al-Shifa after Israeli troops seize Gaza’s biggest hospital

Dozens of premature babies have been moved from Gaza’s al-Shifa Hospital to another medical facility in Rafah near the enclave’s border with Egypt. The evacuation, conducted by the United Nations and the Palestinian Red Crescent on November 19, 2023, happened days after Gaza’s largest hospital was seized by the Israeli military. Israeli forces said they wanted to root out an alleged Hamas command centre under the hospital.
