US Vice-President Kamala Harris concedes election and congratulates Donald Trump on win

US Vice-President Kamala Harris officially conceded the presidential race to Donald Trump on November 7, 2024. Harris said she called Trump to congratulate him on his victory, adding that she would help the Republican and his team with the transition and engage in a “peaceful transfer of power”. Political analysts say Harris faced steep odds after taking over from President Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate only 107 days before the vote.
