London Southend Airport to remain closed one day after 'fireball' crash, casualties unconfirmed

Police in the British county of Essex were alerted about a "serious incident" at Southend Airport involving a 12-metre plane that crashed on July 13, 2025. No casualties have been confirmed, but witnesses described seeing a “fireball”. The plane had flown back from the Greek capital, Athens, to Pula in Croatia before heading to Southend. It was scheduled to return to Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands.
