Pakistan’s foreign minister said Islamabad is ready to broker and host “meaningful talks” between the US and Iran to bring an end to the war in the Middle East. The March 29, 2026, announcement came as foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Turkey travelled to the Pakistani capital for talks on de-escalating the US-Israeli war on Iran that has widened into a regional conflict. The peace efforts came as US President Donald Trump again weighed seizing Iran’s key fuel hub of Kharg Island.
