Malaysian-Indians are less likely to become scam victims because they often respond with a barrage of questions that are too much for the scammers to handle, according to police in Penang state. The deputy chief of the Penang Commercial Crime Investigation Department told a forum on scam prevention that based on interviews with arrested scammers, Indians are targeted just as often as other ethnic groups, but the scammers find them more difficult to deceive because they ask many questions.
