An influencer in Malaysia has been arrested over safety breaches linked to a car photo shoot at sea, in which the luxury vehicle was placed on a floating platform towed by a boat.

Local media quoted Terengganu Maritime Director, Maritime Captain Hamiludin Che Awang, as saying that the platform and a towing vessel were seized by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency on Wednesday afternoon about 16 nautical miles northwest of Kuala Terengganu, near Pulau Bidong.

In a video released by New Straits Times, the platform containing the luxury vehicle boasts a second level resembling part of a house, complete with glass windows and furniture.

“The platform was built without safety equipment, which could pose a risk to the crew, passengers and other water users,” Hamiludin reportedly said of the incident.

“Upon inspection, a passenger boat was used to tow a floating platform with a car on it, while another boat accompanying the towing activity was found operating without a valid license from the Department of Marine,” he added.
