Omicron may be the final coronavirus variant of concern – if we are lucky
Viruses cannot improve indefinitely. And the mutations that improve Omicron’s spreading ability do not greatly increase deaths from Covid-19, writes Ben Krishna
If we are lucky, Sars-CoV-2 will become endemic and variants of concern will be a thing of the past – at least until the next virus jumps the species barrier
