The film starts where Part 1 left off. Bella (Kristen Stewart) is now a mother and a vampire. But danger comes when her daughter Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) is mistaken for an "immortal child".
Turning a child into a vampire is against the vampire canon, and the Italian-based ruling coven decides to destroy the child to make up for this abomination.
Edward (Robert Pattinson) and the Cullens spare no effort to search for witnesses to prove Renesmee is a half-human and half-vampire. Everything builds to the final showdown between the Cullens and Volturi clan.
One huge drawback is the overload of teen melodrama. The long build-up for the final battle is mostly driven by dialogue, and many scenes involve hot young actors posing and discussing their plan of action. And the less-than-convincing special effects are a great disappointment.
If you've seen the first four, I don't need to convince you to watch this. But even Twilight newbies will find something in these two hours of B-movie fun.
