- This is the first major video since the K-pop stars’ controversial panda incident
- The YouTube video features satellite images of major world cities, with Blinks excited their idols could be ‘In Your Area’ soon
K-pop queens Blackpink have big news. The only problem is, they won’t tell us what it is yet!
The girl band released a 30-second teaser video today titled Blackpink – Around the World. Starting with Korean capital Seoul, the camera zooms in on satellite images of 16 cities around the world.
As well as the city’s name, each image also features a time and geographic co-ordinates.
It ends with a spinning Earth, topped by the pink crown from the cover of their debut full-length release, The Album.
There is, however, no date. The only information the quartet share in the video description are the two cryptic words: “Coming soon!”
In the comments, some Blinks suggest this could be the announcement of an online concert, perhaps similar to BTS’ Map of the Soul ON:E gig earlier this year. Others believe it could be a tour
We’re super excited, obviously. We’re just looking forward to knowing what we’re excited about!
