Earth's two mightiest heroes team up to battle a 5,000-year-old villain determined to take over the world. DC Comics fans will enjoy pulse-pounding action as Superman and Captain Marvel battle the evil and equally powerful Black Adam in the new short movie Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam.

The 20-minute film reveals Captain Marvel's origins. The superhero was once teenager Billy Batson. His life changes for good when he is given the power to transform into earth's mightiest hero by the wizard Shazam.

Bringing the voice of Captain Marvel to life is Jerry O'Connell (Sliders and Crossing Jordan), who also voiced earth's mightiest mortal in an episode of Justice League Unlimited.

George Newbern reprises his Justice League and Justice League Unlimited television series roles as the voice of Superman/Clark Kent, while Zach Callison voices Billy Batson, with James Garner as the wizard Shazam and Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) as Black Adam.

Included on both the DVD and Blu-Ray editions are three of the previous shorts - Jonah Hex, Green Arrow and The Spectre.

There are also four bonus TV episodes - from Justice League Unlimited, Batman: the Animated Series and Batman: the Brave and the Bold - picked by Bruce Timm, producer for all the animated DC Comics movies and television shows.

The DVD is out now.
