Be ready to spend an afternoon like a real journalist! You will attend a simulated press conference, take quotes and notes, and do some research before writing your news stories in teams. We will give you feedback on your work. Here is your chance to have a real sense of what it's like to work in a newsroom. The workshop will include a tour of the SCMP.

From kimchi to cucumber pickles, the signature dishes of Korea have seduced Hong Kong with their intoxicating flavours and hot spices. With some help from a Korean food critic, junior reporters will prepare an assortment of side dishes. The class will be followed by a tasting session. Yummy!

Think art, think creativity, think freedom. Now improvise something new with a group of artists. It's called art jam. Oscary Art & Wine cafe is inviting YP Junior Reporters to give it a try.

Hong Kong Glass Arts Development Society will teach junior reporters what it means by "fusing" in glass art. You will get to design and make your own piece of glass jewelry! Glass artist Fanny Mak will also demonstrate another interesting technique, "lampwork".

Guided geo-tour to High Island at HK Geopark, one of Hong Kong's most popular geological sites. The reservoir is home to some of the most spectacular natural wonders, including hexagonal columns, s-shaped columns and sea caves. Learn all about the reservoir's geological history, rocks and landforms from a professional guide. Transportation will be arranged.

Micro-mosaic jewellery made with tiny glass beads or cubes appeared in Italy a century ago. Artist Shan Luk learned the techniques from an Italian mosaicist. In the three-hour workshop, Shan will teach you how to make a micro-mosaic pendant.

How do you recycle used cooking oil? What happens to food waste? Find answers to your questions at this full-day green tour organised by non-profit charitable organisation Yan Oi Tong.

Digital photography is all about speed, but the simplicity of a pinhole camera, aka camera obscura, allows one to capture the passage of time. In this exciting step-by-step workshop, Junior Reporters will build their own pinhole camera from photographic paper, drill their own pinholes and develop their images in a darkroom.

You can learn about the meaning of social justice as one of the Global Elites 2011 organised by Roundtable Community. Established in 2004, Roundtable Community is made of young scholars interested in cultural and social issues. Through a range of activities, it creates a platform for young people to exchange ideas and collectively build and sustain a diversified culture in Hong Kong.
This year’s programme includes seminars on human rights, natural disasters, economic success and the role of government and law. There will also be leadership workshops and a training camp, as well as a model United Nations conference. Students aged 15 to 19 are welcome to participate.
