Another month has gone by and it’s time to celebrate! All of us at Team YP would like to thank you for your trust and friendship. After examining our many great submissions last month, we have picked some of our favourite letters, debates, and more. Congratulations!

Best Letter

Beatrice Villaflor from Nord Anglia International School impressed us with her letter about the results of the 2022 Philippines elections and how she still has hope, even though her candidate lost.

Corinne Ng from St Paul’s Secondary School won best letter for asking tourists who visit Hong Kong’s outlying islands to be more mindful, using her perspective as a Cheung Chau resident.

Best Face Off

Shruti Kaur from YMCA of Hong Kong Christian College is our best debate winner for her arguments on the need to regulate social media platforms. She used examples like Covid-19 and cyberbullying to make great points.

Most creative

Enoch Hung Yi-lok from Christian Alliance SC Chan Memorial College won this month’s most creative award for the thoughtful idea of switching bodies with Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the suffering and end the war in Ukraine.

Most engaged school

Christ College sent more than 60 submissions to our Top 10 and Your Voice sections in May, and four of them were published. We really appreciate the love; thanks for being so involved!

Winners will receive a certificate and a special YP notebook to encourage them in their writing journeys. We will be in touch with them.
