Billie Eilish releases new music video for new song ‘Therefore I Am’
- The Grammy-winning teenager directed the MV, as she did for ‘Everything I Wanted’ and ‘Xanny’
- The 18-year-old is due to perform the track, which has been viewed millions of times on YouTube, at the 2020 AMAs next week
Billie Eilish dropped a music video for her newest song Therefore I Am yesterday, and it’s already racked up nearly 8.5 million views on YouTube in the first 15 hours, with 1.5 million likes.
Like the videos for her songs Everything I Wanted and xanny, the MV was directed by the 18-year-old. It follows the singer through an empty shopping mall as she picks up a range of snacks and drinks, and sings about deflecting recent media criticisms about her appearance.
The filming style is very simple, but really draws you in, while the deserted venue reflects the effects of the pandemic. The location is the Glendale Galleria shopping mall in Los Angeles – somewhere Billie used to spend a lot of time pre-fame, as she grew up in the city.
Billie will be performing this song at the 2020 American Music Awards, set to take place on November 22. Although there are no further clues as to what the performance will look like, there is no doubt the artist will get creative as usual.
The artist has been active during the global lockdown as she streamed a full-length live concert of her Where Do We Go? Tour in October, and also paired up with her Grammy-winning brother Finneas for a NPR Tiny Desk Concert in August.
Billie was due to perform in Hong Kong in August as part of her world tour, but it was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans have been assured that a new date will be announced, and tickets will behonoured.
