Blackpink's Jennie starts a solo YouTube channel

Jennie from Blackpink made her solo video debut on YouTube last Friday. Her channel, Jennierubyjane Official, has amassed more than 3 million subscribers since the account was created on January 13. We guess her Silver and Gold Play Buttons are already on their way to her – perhaps her next video will be an unboxing?

In her first video, titled “Hello World. From Jennie”, she says she wanted to do something for her 25th birthday, and decided to turn on her camera to take us into her daily life. She gives us a peek at her outfit of the day, which consists of jeans, a floral tee and a vintage Chanel necklace – a nod to being a Chanel ambassador.

On the video, Jennie also sings. She covers the song When Will My Life Begin by Mandy Moore from the Disney film Tangled, while she tidies her flat, paints sunflowers and cuddles with her two dogs. She looks happy and relaxed in front of the camera, to the delight of her fans.

By Monday afternoon, the video had reached more than 10 million views.

She’s not the only Blackpink member to have a personal YouTube channel. Her bandmate Lisa joined the video platform in 2018 as Lilifilm Official, although she hasn’t uploaded a video in the last six months.

Most of Lisa’s videos are dance videos or sneak peeks into the backstage moments of Blackpink life, as well as personal moments between the girls during their time off.

Now we just need to wait and see if Jisoo and Rosé follow suit, and
