We received some amazing photos and answers for our Father’s Day competition, and it was hard to pick the prize-winning entries. After some seriously agonising decision-making, though, we narrowed it down to the three below.

Congratulations to the winner and two runners-up! To read the rest of our top five, head here

My dad is the sweetest person ever! Even though it looks, on the surface, that he doesn’t show me much care, he takes good care of me. He provides me with unconditional support and protects me.

When I’m sleeping and I kick off my blankets, my dad will tuck them back around me. When I want to buy something that my mum won’t let me have, my dad will put money on my desk with a card that reads: “From your secret angel”. He doesn’t admit that he is my secret angel, but I know he is.

If I get in trouble, he’s the first one to help me get out of it. When I am at fault for something, my dad doesn’t tell me off. Instead, he just tells me how to fix things. My dad’s unconditional love and help means a lot to me. He is my everything. My oxygen, my water, my sun … I literally can’t live without him. I love you so much, Dad!

A role model

It’s the first word I say when I cry, and the first when I laugh. I don’t call myself Papa’s Princess for nothing. Day in and day out, you work so hard to make sure that I can get the toy I’ve been excited about, to make sure we can go on the best holidays, and to make sure that – no matter what I do – I do it with a smile.

My papa is my motivation on days when I am down, my laughter on days when I am sad, and my mentor every single day. There’s not one problem in this world that I can’t face, not one goal I can’t achieve, and not one dream I can’t fulfil, as long as I have my Papa by my side.

I can hardly remember it, but when I was three, I was very ill and I was often in and out of the hospital. My dad was very worried about me, and he’d let other important or urgent things pass him by because he’d rather be with me.

My dad has a caring and responsible heart. He’s always taken care of me. I love him so much even though he is not always home, because I know he cares deeply about his family. My dad is a superhero, he sacrifices himself to save others. I would like to say thank you to my mighty dad. Thank you for loving me my whole life!
