Doraemon - wisdom always outweighs fighting skills in a battle. Doraemon has a pocket filled with gadgets from the future. His tools, such as Anywhere Door, can help him deal with attacks. His time machine will enable him to find out tactics Superman will use. Knowing this in advance will help him win.

If Superman had to face and subsequently lose to one person in a duel, I believe he would meet his downfall at the hands of Professor Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. This is because Superman's weaknesses include magic, and Dumbledore is the greatest wizard of his time. There's no doubt he has a lot of magic tricks up his sleeve. So he is the best candidate to prevail.

The Green Lantern would beat Superman because Superman's weaknesses lie in kryptonite and physical forces larger than his own. The Green Lantern has no weaknesses except the colour yellow, and he has the power to imagine anything and make it real. He could easily dream up kryptonite, defeat his rival and become the next Superman.

Let's face it: no mortal could possibly stand a chance against the sheer Herculean might of Superman. What we need is somebody who can beat him by outsmarting him with superior intellect. In that case, who better to destroy the extra-terrestrial superhero than mega-brainy astrophysicist Stephen Hawking? He could do it without so much as leaving his chair!

Jay Lee Seung-jae, 13, Hong Kong International School

Neither a villain nor any other superhero can ever beat Superman, who was created by Jerry Siegel. Therefore, the only creature who could beat Superman in a fight would have to be created by Siegel himself. Let anyone bring any creature into a fight with Superman. Within seconds, it would be defeated by Superman in thousands of different ways Siegel could come up with. Therefore, I believe the only thing that could beat Superman in a fight is the creator himself.

I would beat Superman in the fight! It is because Jesus gives me enormous power so that I will never die. According to the Bible, Jesus said: "I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand." (John 10:28). Maybe our fight would last for a century but I would win in the end. The reason is simple - because I can live longer than him.

Kirsten Leung Lok-yin, 12, Heep Yunn School

Lois Lane could beat Superman. Lane is Superman's wife, and a determined person. Although she doesn't have any power, I think she can win with her strong will-power. And I'm sure Superman will not be so hard-hearted as to hurt a woman, especially his wife.

Giselle Chan Cheuk-ying, 16, Pui Ching Middle School

Voldemort would beat Superman in a fight. With Superman's powers, there is no doubt that he could easily beat any ordinary person. But to Voldemort, Superman is just one of the "muggles". Voldemort can simply flick his wand and wreck Superman's powers. There would be no chance of Superman running away from his rival at lightning speed. Superman would gradually lose all his superpowers. Then, Voldemort can confidently point his wand at him and let out a whispered curse, which would knock him out. Where magic is involved, Superman may not be that powerful after all!

Chatel Cheng, 16, Diocesan Girls' School

The Incredibles would beat Superman, as they are a whole family of superheroes. There is only one Superman to fight against the entire family, who have various powers such as great strength or elasticity. Taken together, all these powers could be used to defeat Superman.

Janet Choi Ho-ching, 15, Sai Kung Sung Tsun

It must be Doraemon. Superman symbolises righteousness, power, strength and great looks. He has beaten many bad guys and rescued a lot of people before, and is generally well-liked. However, Doraemon is a 22nd-century robot wielding 22nd-century technology. With his magic tools, he could become invisible. There are so many ways he could beat Superman.
