Every Wednesday we ask our Brain Game contestants one interesting, thought-provoking or just plain quirky question. Their answers will be published anonymously in Young Post. Then readers can vote for their FAVOURITE answer. We will eliminate the contestant with the LEAST votes every week until we have a winner.
The ultimate Brain Game winner will receive a pair of Beats Solo2 Wireless Headphones worth HK$2,598. Votes close at midnight on Sunday.
I would choose Mal, the daughter of Maleficent in the Disney movie Descendants. Mal gets accepted to the School of Princes and Princesses, and when she’s there, she realises that just because her mum is evil doesn’t mean she is bad.
Mal and her friends decide to be good because Mal thinks being good is very important. She is curious and keen to find out about the outside world.
Even though she is meant to be bad, she is good at heart and respects people and that is a quality I want in a friend.
*Eyes light up* I’d choose Harry Potter! His magic could solve many of the world’s biggest problems, such as slow Wi-fi and that annoying buffering in YouTube videos (just kidding).
He could tell me all about the Battle of Hogwarts first-hand, teach me how to play Quidditch on flying broomsticks, and perform spells like Wingardium Leviosa. All of this while my mouth hangs open in amazement.
Also, he looks like he needs a big hug after all he’s been through. He’d make an awesome friend to hang out with, and soon enough, we’d be selling his autographs on eBay.
Wait a sec ... are you sure that Harry Potter and his world of wizards and spells are all fictional? *takes a deep breath*
If I were to choose a fictional character to be my BFF, of course I would go with Harry. Apart from the fact that he’s famous and has got quite a lot of experience dealing with different situations, he would make my life so much more exciting and fun.
Admittedly, anyone who is close to him seems to end up dead well before their time. However, time is relative in Harry’s world – the significance of the life you’d lead during your time alive would be more about the spiritual legacy you’d leave behind.
Without doubt, I would choose to be BFFs with Phineas from Phineas and Ferb. It would be fun, without the constant worry of exams and pressure from school. We would create and build something new each day.
Sometimes, I wake up and wonder what I will be doing today. But often, when I finally get to sleep after a long day, I realise I have done nothing productive. But with Phineas as my BFF, we could build something new for the community to play with, from the tallest slide to the craziest roller coaster in the world.
I would finally be able to say, “Phineas, I know what we’re gonna do today”... and tomorrow ... and the day after.
I want to be friends with Beca Mitchell in Pitch Perfect. I totally love her sass and her free-spirited character. Being her friend would be such a good thing because she would show me how to create mixtapes, make and produce music, and maybe even how to mix songs.
She could also teach me how to sing and dance to a beat, which I have wanted to be able to do for ages. She knows all about music and it would be great to have a friend who is such a good singer.
She is quite independent though so I think I would have to take the initiative and send her a friend request on Facebook.
