As an avid Harry Potter fan, the first thing that comes to mind is the power to Apparate – the ability to teleport from one place to another instantly. That would be really handy! But that’s thinking too small. If I could have any superpower, it would be omnipotence – to be all-powerful. Imagine being able to do anything under the sky. Curing deadly diseases, gaining supernatural intelligence, and ending world poverty with just a snap of my fingers. I would rid the world of pollution, and purify the air. I’d make sure people could live peacefully and free form corruption, and that material things no longer held any value.

I’d also like to look after myself; I’ve always wanted a dog, so I’d cross that off my bucket list. I’d travel the world, try and experiencing new things, taste new cuisines and meet new people. I’d take my family and friends along, and we’d all have the time of our lives.

Top 10: if you could have any super power, what would you choose and why?

Prashant Joshi, 35, banker

If I could have any superpower, I would choose to be able to do anything that came into my mind. If I wanted to move at the speed of light, I could. If I wanted to leap into the air and hover there, I could. If I wanted to squeeze through a keyhole, or do a triple somersault, I could. Not only would I be incredibly agile, but I’d also have heightened senses and be able to react to things very quickly, in a Superman-like way.

This power could be used for good, such as saving people or averting danger. Usually, when the mind thinks of an idea, the body is too slow to be able to react instantly to our thought or intention. We are also unaware of the thoughts and ideas of others and therefore unable to arrive at proper responses. This power would therefore enable me to make better responses to public and personal situations – in a way that would also look super cool!

Mind the Gap: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

Chan Ka-wai, 58, bubble tea shop owner

I would like to have the power to save people before horrible events, such as car or plane crashes, happen. I would devote all my energy to rescuing as many people as possible.

Life is precious, but also very fragile, that’s why I would like to use my special powers to prevent deaths and help people live happily. I also hope that the people I save will go on to spend their extra time on Earth wisely, focusing on the people and things that they truly love and care about!
