1. Kitschy collectibles

7-11 stamps! I exchange them for limited-edition products, from Line to Angrybirds! My room is full of keychains and miniature plush toys from 7-11. The unused stamps go on the fridge!

2. Streaming happiness

Free WiFi at malls upon spending HK$500 or more! I would definitely be motivated to shop more to get free internet access. Nowadays, it is probably the most important thing for most people in Hong Kong. Most people (including me) can't live without it, so we'd do anything, I mean anything, to get it for free.

3. Sack it to me

A free recyclable bag would get me to shop more. Because now there's a charge for plastic bags, taking whatever I bought back home is inconvenient. If shops offer me a free recyclable bag for my goods, then I won't feel too bad, and I'll definitely shop more.

Kenny Cheung, 15, Law Ting Pong Secondary School

4. Extremely limited

The words "last one left". How can I resist not bringing home the last one - the last anything - and loving it?

5. Wipe-hype

Free packs of tissues. They're so useful: wipe your mouth, your sweat, or any kind of mess. We use them every day, especially during the summer!

Wilson Lau, 14, Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary School

6. A little recognition

I think setting up an award for being an outstanding shopaholic would definitely motivate me to shop more. Just like people who get Nobel Prizes for their contributions to humanity, we should have prizes for people who contribute to the economy by shopping.

Joy Pamnani, 16, PLK Ngan Po Ling College

7. Sounds like a challenge

A lot of stuff would get me to shop more, actually, because I am an airhead teenager (aren't we all) armed with my parents' money. If I have to choose one thing that would definitely guarantee me to empty my wallet, it's entering a competition, like designing the most creative costume or putting on the most ridiculous make-up. Even though I am 99 per cent sure I wouldn't win if these competitions existed, it would definitely fire my competitive spirit to splurge on competition materials.

8. Let them eat cake

A chocolate cake would get me to shop more ... love cakes.

Kitty Choy, 13, Carmel Divine Grace Foundation Secondary School

9. A chicken-and-the-egg thing

If I'd get money for shopping more, I'd shop more. It'd be a vicious cycle of me spending, getting money and then spending again.

Anushka Purohit, 15, Renaissance College

10. More mall hitmen

I would love the ability

to commission the "mysterious disappearance" of someone who gets on my nerves. Sales advertisers, take note.
