You can never be too grateful for friends!

Out of the 7.8 billion people in the world, Dixma is my best friend. She knows me better and understands me better than anyone, and she has never left my side. I have done stupid things but she always helps me get back on track. She is the most genuine person I have ever met. I can always be myself when I’m with her because she never judges me or makes fun of me. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Best Friends Forever #18: Who is your best friend and why?

Mavis is my best friend. We have been through a lot of difficulties together. I always depend on her because she’s so clever. Whenever I am down, she comforts me and cheers me up. For example, one day, I was upset about my exam. She told me not to be sad and that we will study and work hard together. She always encourages me to do my best. She is my angel who’s always there to support me. That’s why we are best friends forever.

Best Friends Forever #17: When friends become family

When I was assigned to sit next to Deanna in maths class in seventh grade, I never thought we would develop an everlasting friendship. She helped me with maths, and our bond lasted beyond our K-pop phase. We have been through the highs and lows of high school together. When I had difficulty with science, she also helped me. She is the one who I can always count on.

Laileh Nabegu, 15, Chamblee High School, US

My best friend and I are of different ages, but that hasn’t stopped us from being close and understanding each other. She supports and encourages me, and accepts me the way I am. We bring out the best in each other. She also taught me how to make friends and I’m grateful for that.

Riikka Kumpula, 18, Sodankylä High School, Finland

My mum is definitely my BFF. She cares so much about me and we share a lot of joy and pain. She always supports me and we share our views towards the world. Here’s a song I’d like to sing to her:

I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow if we let them
And we help them in return
I don’t know if I believe that’s true
But I know I’m who I am today
Because of you

Best Friends Forever #16: In good company

My best friend is Ayantika Das. We first bonded in fourth grade, and that was almost five years ago. Our friendship is still going strong. We trust and understand each other. I’m very glad to have such an endearing and generous friend.

Sinchita Manna, 16, Vidyasagar Shishu Niketan High School, India

I met my best friend in seventh grade, the year I just moved to a new school and didn’t know anyone. We both made it into the basketball team, and that’s when our friendship started. She is kind, funny and amazing. She is everything I wanted in a friend.

We are going to be sophomores in high school next year. She made my transition to a new school much easier, and I’m so grateful for that. I hope our friendship will never end.
