Climate change

Climate change refers to the shift in worldwide weather associated with an increase in global average temperatures. While climate has varied throughout history, the extreme changes seen recently appear to be the result of of human activity and industrial developments since the mid-20th century. While the most obvious effect is hotter weather, climate change also refers to changes in things such as rainfall, wind and sea levels.
