Hong Kong festival demand stays strong
Box office receipts for the 37th Hong Kong Arts Festival, which opens next month, remain strong despite the current economic downturn. According to officials, more than 9,500 advance booking forms had been returned and more than 50 per cent of all tickets sold before counter booking began in early December. That exceeds the advance booking figures for the same period for last year's festival. Owing to strong demand, an extra performance has been added for the British-Finnish production of Metamorphosis, the local play Murder in San Jose and Lisa Ono - A Celebration of 50 Years of Bossa Nova.
