Celebrities go ga ga for Silver Cross at TST store opening

The Year of the Dragon has been a big one for celebrity baby boomers, so it's no wonder luxury toddler-ware brands are thriving in Hong Kong.

British brand Silver Cross, celebrating its 135th anniversary this year, has opened its first flagship store in Asia at Tsim Sha Tsui's Harbour City mall.

Celebrity mums in attendance at Wednesday's ceremony included actresses Karena Lam Ka-yan, Eileen Yeow Ying-ying and socialite Jenny Chau, who all admired nursery items used by Britain's royal family.

Lam talked more about her daughter Kayla, who was born in 2010, than plans for a comeback in the acting world.

The semi-retired actress said family was her priority at the moment.

However, she revealed that if she worked on a film in the future, she would prefer to be behind the camera - showing a preference in the production side of the industry.

Lam also revealed she would like to add a baby boy to her brood in the near future.

"We are still trying at this stage," she said.

"I want a son, but my husband [TV commercial director Steve Yuen Kim-wai] prefers another daughter."
