Mooning after romance? Mingle with other singles in the Ozone of soul-mate seekers

The most romantic day of the year can be hellish for those alone or newly single. So perhaps this is the year to take charge, go out there and find that special someone. Easier said than done, but this Valentine's Day, Hip Hong Kong is here to help.

In conjunction with the Ozone bar on the top floor of the Ritz-Carlton hotel in West Kowloon, Hip Hong Kong is hosting a Single In The City Valentine's Day Party kicking off tonight at 9pm.

In honour of the fact that this year's Valentine's Day falls immediately after Lunar New Year, the party will be thrown in the style of a traditional lantern festival, known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

A combination of alcohol and controlled social interaction should guarantee even the shyest would-be lovers can meet a special someone. Guests will be given a zodiac card. When they meet someone with the same card they will be rewarded with a pair of free shots.

Or impress would-be suitors with your knowledge, by answering special lantern riddles, some of which promise to be quite racy.

If you need more help making your move, don't despair; matchmakers will be circulating through the crowd making sure that no potential coupling is left unexplored.

Men must pay HK$200 for entry and a complimentary drink and piece of chocolate, although they will most likely feel obligated to give these away to a "new friend". Women, of course, get in for free.
