All in the details Read any men's magazine and they will tell you fashion is all about the details, yet people are still buying cufflinks shaped like animals or dollar signs. Luckily, Cartier is on hand to make sure you don't embarrass yourself. Take a look at the lovely lattice cufflinks (right; HK$4,950) and the even lovelier round cufflinks topped with Kotibe wood (above right; HK$4,300). Cartier is in Prince's Building, Central, tel: 8105 5008.

Cape crusade Thanks to Dolce & Gabbana, the cape does not look like it's going away this autumn-winter. We love the ensemble of evening jacket (HK$24,700), waistcoat (HK$3,600) and piece de resistance, the black cape (all left; HK$24,700). If that's a bit too theatrical for you, there's the elegant grey combination of cardigan (HK$17,600), shirt (HK$3,500), trousers (HK$4,900) and bow tie (all far left; HK$2,300). Dolce & Gabbana is in Alexandra House, Central, tel: 2877 5558.

Design driven Every high-end car company seems to be producing questionable clothing and accessories that can only appeal to brand loyalty rather than taste. Porsche Design is slightly different, particularly when it comes to the trainers it has created with adidas. The Gym Easy Trainer (right; HK$2,300) is sleek and futuristic while the Tubular Bounce (above right; HK$3,900) incorporates revolutionary technology into the cutting-edge design. Porsche Design is available at 30 Queen's Road Central, tel: 2522 4128.

Classic case Russell Brand still seems to be getting work so we're wagering that wacky is still popular. However, sometimes you just need to tone things down and go for simple and classic. These ST Dupont wallets don't need to scream and shout to create an impression. The black leather card holder (left; HK$1,780) is simplicity itself and all the better for it, and we're a big fan of the black billfold wallet (far left; HK$2,970). ST Dupont is at B/F, The Peninsula hotel, Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2721 1998.
