You've got the bikini, the big, floppy hat and the to-die-for sandals; now all you need to tie the look together are perfect nails. Peruse these hues for that beach-ready summer bombshell look.

By Terry's Terrybly High-Shine Smoothing Lacquer (HK$290) has two new colours - Meli-Melon (pictured) and Moving Mauve. Meli-Melon is a bright orange hue that takes only one coat for a sleek, solid finish. Wear it alone or with the brand's latest nail primer, Regenerating Nail Strengthener Base, which claims to fill in ridges and strengthen nails with ingredients such as goji extract, apple stem cells and marine minerals, for a long-lasting result.

Clinique's latest Nail Enamel (HK$110) range is formulated to minimise skin sensitivity - lacquer, the brand would have us believe, being more irritating to our skin and eyes than we thought. Clinique's suggested solution is its allergy-tested and fragrance-free range, which took six years to develop. There are eight limited-edition shades with summery names such as 70° and Sunny (yellow), Splish Splash (blue) and Hula Skirt (baby green). We tried the pink Sweet Tooth (pictured), which is quick drying but the colour is so light it is almost transparent.

Tom Ford's Nail Lacquer in Vapor (HK$230) gives nails an elegant touch and an "ultra modern" look - thanks to its pearl-like finish. Apply two coats or one on top of another nail colour, as the varnish's semi-opaque sheen adds shimmer. Its formula is said to offer a bendable coating, whatever that means, to maximise coverage and shine.

Nicole by OPI - Selena Gomez lacquers (HK$75) is yet another celebrity-inspired collection to be launched by the brand. Ten shades including glitter and confetti-infused options have all been concocted to reflect the American actress' sweet-yet-strong character. Love Song (pictured) gives fingertips an eye-catching light purple colour.
