Yellow duck mousse mooncakes hit the spot

While the gigantic yellow rubber duck, designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, entertains the crowds during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Beijing, mooncake makers in the city will be celebrating in their own way.

The Sweet Spot in China World Hotel will launch its unique yellow duck mousse mooncakes on Monday.

Anthony Dawson, Area Executive Chef of China World Hotel, said the idea came from the general manager of the hotel, “and it’s a good idea because the duck is so popular here.”

The mousse mooncakes come in four different flavours – green tea, chocolate, mango and forest berry – and each one has a little marzipan yellow duck on top.

Apart from yellow duck mooncakes, The Sweet Spot also sells yellow duck cupcakes in its shops in the China World Trade Centre.
