SCMP has unearthed three photographs showing the Hong Kong-born actor taking part in demonstrations over the years.
Actor Jackie Chan has sparked controversy by suggesting that Hongkongers' right to demonstrate should be limited.
But the Rush Hour star has obviously forgotten his own penchant for protesting.

In November 2002 Chan was at the forefront of a protest against the publication of the Eastweek Magazine's front-page picture of a naked and distressed actress at Central Government Offices
In March 1999 Chan was photographed at an Anti-Piracy Alliance protest
In August 1996 the actor joined other Hong Kong movie stars join a march to protest against Triad violence
In an interview with Southern People Weekly Chan asserts that 'authorities should stipulate what issues people can protest over and on what issues it is not allowed'.
He said: "Hong Kong has become a city of protest. The whole world used to say it was South Korea. It is now Hong Kong.
"People scold China's leaders, or anything else they like, and protest against everything.
"The authorities should stipulate what issues people can protest over and on what issues it is not allowed."
We assume that anything Chan decides to protest over is allowed.
