Hundreds of protesters wearing an assortment of hard hats and protective masks stormed Admiralty and laid siege to Chief Executive Leung Chun-ying's office after student federation representatives called for an escalation of pro-democracy protests on Sunday night. Police used pepper spray and batons to repel the protesters as clashes continued throughout the night and into Monday morning.
