In a sad reminder of the days when heavyweight boxing used to mean something, Joe Frazier will be moved tomorrow to a new crypt in the Philadelphia cemetery where he was buried a year ago.

Words are not sticks and stones

Howard Cosell was a lot of things. 'Arrogant, pompous, obnoxious, vain, cruel, verbose, a showoff. I have been called all of these,' the sportscasting legend once said. 'Of course, I am.' But of all the things Cosell was, there was one thing he was not: racist.

I'm still smokin' mad about 1971

Chance to dream of glory and forget the ordinary

The great Muhammad Ali once famously said that the question 'who is going to win?' is more compelling than even the pursuit of a beautiful woman. He was talking before one of his own fights - a reminder that his publicity skills outside the ring were as sharp as those with which he plied his brutal trade inside the ropes.
