IT will be a hot one this year if Donna Summer has her way. For those who think the Disco Diva has put aside her dancing shoes and stashed away her sequinned gowns, here's news for you.

She's back. But her recording company would obviously love us to believe that she never took a rest from the scene at all, judging from the number of 'greatest hits' that they have been unleashing on the unsuspecting public. Another - Endless Summer - is due out here soon, with a re-mixed version of the huge disco hit I Feel Love, although strangely enough, Summer herself has not heard of its impending release.

'We talked about it and they said they were going to do it but no one came back to tell me if it was going through. But to be fair, I have been touring and haven't been in contact with the recording company,' said Summer, from her office in New York City.

What she is sure of, however, is that her fans will be hearing an all-new album from her 'hopefully in the summer'.

'I've been writing songs with different people, such as Pete Waterman, for the new album and I just got a song from Jon Secada,' she continued.

'I hope to be able to write some other songs, maybe with Amy Grant and others. I've got about four songs now.' With at least another six songs to go before she can release the album, Summer figures it should be ready by the summer but admits that 'it would really be pushing it' because of her other commitments.
