Command and Conquer For PC CD-ROMS Virgin Interactive Entertainment's Command And Conquer looks great in comparison with other PC war games. It has already won rave reviews for its smooth scrolling action and 'intelligent' tactical exercises.

Gone are the days when war games consisted of moving markers - or little dots on the screen - to see who could conquer the most territories.

In Command And Conquer, you control an army which moves with just a mouse-click. All you have to do is to click on the soldier or army vehicle you want moved, then click on the spot you want them to go to, and the action is carried out. Even the combat is just a mouseclick away.

One of the more exciting aspects of the game is the hidden areas. Each area is 'lit' only when your army moves into it. This keeps the surprise aspect of the game: you never know when an enemy will pop out from behind the bush or a rock when you move in.

The terrain is covered with trees, bushes, rocks, buildings, bluffs and villages so there are plenty of places for the enemy to hide.

You can control one of two armies: The Brotherhood of Nod, or the Global Defence Initiative, which both strive for global dominance.

Each move you make happens in 'real time', so you have to be quick on the draw. Time wasted will relegate you to history pretty quickly.
