The 62 styles of men's shoes, adapted from the famous John Lobb made-to-measure collection, are available in Hong Kong.

Philippe Dupuy, director general of John Lobb, said the same traditions of craftsmanship, materials and standard of excellence were used for all designs of the ready-to-wear shoes.

Mr Dupuy said that John Lobb, which is owned by the House of Hermes, had chosen Hong Kong as the first place in Asia to open a boutique.

'Hong Kong has a good balance between tourists and sophisticated local consumers that compares well to London, New York and Paris,' he said.

Mr Dupuy said the Hong Kong boutique, in Prince's Building, would also be the regional headquarters from where executives would oversee expansion in Asia.

He said the ready-to-wear collection was made from French leather using the Goodyear technique which had been handed down through the industry over the years.
