IT'S been a great first season for Ivan Allan, the former multiple champion trainer of Malaysia and Singapore.
He was on target again last night with Allocate who looked really fired up to sprint for his life before the fifth event.
Allan has also managed to inject a fair bit of speed into another of his acquisitions, Wind Traveller.
The six-year-old raced prominently throughout in the second race won well by the Derek Cruz-trained Precious Delights. He just lacked the basic speed in the closing stages to run into the tierce in an effort which was a marked improvement on his first runfor the stable.
In running fourth last night, he showed more than enough potential to win a race for Allan before the season closes.
The night's final event saw runs for the future at opposite ends of the field. The way City Raider surged to the line suggests he will be winning again for Biancone.
And it could pay to keep on the right side of Everbright who suffered interference in running and was then ridden very, very wide into the straight before staying on well to the line.
