COMEDIAN Dayo Wong Chi-wah - star of the popular TVB Jade series War Of The Genders - had his $450,000 Pajero four-wheel drive stolen from the parking lot of his luxury Ho Man Tin apartment last weekend. Ironically, his vehicle was parked next to two luxury Mercedes-Benzes. Wong is the third artist, after TVB actor Au Yeung Chun-wah and singer-actor Steve Fung Tak-lun, to have his car stolen this year. But radio DJ turned actor Eric Kot Man-fai still holds the unenviable 'record': he has had two cars stolen so far.

Insensitive Chan

HAS singer Eason Chan Yick-shun got too big for his boots? A lot of people are certainly starting to think so. There have been some grumbles that the singer is now often too lazy to rehearse for his live shows. However, Chan - who's known for his bluntness and outspokenness - may have stepped over an invisible boundary when he told reporters that he wouldn't consider a kissing scene with his colleague Joey Yung 'because she shows too much gum'. While Chan might have been joking, his insensitive comment stunned Yung and those listening.

Paying the bills

ACTRESS Carina Lau Kar-ling has been a lot more active on the work front lately, sparking speculation that she has been severely scorched by drastically falling IT share prices. She has plunged into her recent television series on ATV, some commercials and now stage play Red Boat. Sources said she might have lost up to $3 million in the downslide and is trying to refill her coffers. However, boyfriend Tony Leung Chiu-wai said her life had been rather aimless before because 'all she did was play mahjong and go shopping'. He took the credit for her increased productivity, saying he had been trying to persuade her to take on more work.
