A stream of stories flows into a mythical ocean - children's stories, fables, folk tales, legends . . . and this Christmas, you will have the chance to embark on a journey through this mythical ocean.
The Ocean of Stories is the latest production from Theatre du Pif. 'It's a mixture of short stories,' said Sean Curran, one of the theatre company's founders.
The innovative theatre company was set up by two ambitious performers - Hong Kong- born actress Bonni Chan Lai-chu and Scotsman Sean Curran - in 1992. Their production Metamorphosis was selected as one of The Ten Most Popular Productions at the 1997 Hong Kong Drama Awards.
'The performance [The Ocean of Stories] is a mixture of different stories; it's like a collage,' Curran, the director, devisor and performer, said.
The stories will be broken into fragments and some of them will not be presented whole.
'If it's a well-known story, we don't need to do the whole story. The audience already knows it. We can simply do the parts that impress and move us most,' Phoebe Chan Yuk-lan, the other performer, said.
